The National Association of Retired Police Officers - Kenya, is run by an Interim National Executive Committee (NEC) which comprises of members who retired from the Kenya Police, Administration Police and The Directorate of Criminal Investigation. The office is still an interim one since the Annual General Meeting is yet to be held. Members meet once a month while designated committees meet regularly. There is also in place a Board of Trustees which is headed by the immediate former Inspector General, Mr. David m. Kimaiyo, MGH, CBS while the former Police Commissioners and Administration Police Commandants are members.
The conception of National Association of Retired Police Officers – Kenya (NARPOK) was mooted on 4/04/2014 at the Kiganjo Police Training College during a passing out ceremony where retired offices were invited by the immediate former Inspector General , Mr. David M. Kimaiyo, CBS.
These later met the president and took the above photo with him. Later they discussed on the need to have a National association for retired police officers akin to the ones found in developed nations, e.g. United Kingdom, Australia and Japan.
The rest as they say is history..
